1. Letter of Patriarch Cyril to Athanasios Psalidas, schoolmaster and teacher of the Kaplanios School. The Patriarch praises Psalidas for the quality and content of his teaching, noting that he should be a model
for his peers. Constantinople, February 6, 1816.

2. Letter from Athanasios Psalidas to Zois Kaplanis. It refers to the difficult relations between Psalidas and the Despot of Ioannina. Furthermore, he records his views on the way of administration and the characteristics the head of the Kaplanios School should have, as well as the content of

4. Letter of Stavros Ioannou to Athanasios Psalidas, in Tsepelovo Zagori. He records his strong concerns about the actions of the people of Ioannina in Constantinople, which directly result in the misappropriation or obstruction of funds from the Zois Kaplanis
bequest, which should be allocated to the schools and teachers of the city of

5. Letter from Athanasios Psalidas to an unknown addressee.
Psalidas praises Zois Kaplanis and the Zosimades for the financial support they
provide to the city of Ioannina in matters of education, in contrast to the people of Ioannina and the prefects of Zagori who show indifference. Ioannina, March  30, 1815.

1. Elizabeth Ypsilantis, mother of the Ypsilantis brothers, donated a large part of the family fortune, allocating huge sums
to war expenses and preparations for the Revolution. The letter bears her handwritten signature.

2. Letter from Sophie de Marbois-Lebrun (Duchess of Placentia) to I. Kapodistrias announcing her financial offer to the National Bank of Finance. The National Bank of Finance (1828 – 1834) was founded by  order of Ioannis Kapodistrias and was the first financial institution of the newly established
Greek State.

Montsenigou-Armeni, Eleni (Countess), (1780-1840)

3. Excerpt from the will of Countess Eleni Armeni- Montsenigou, who offered her large fortune to the island of Corfu as an investment in education.
